ARTB’s Pedagogical Alignments:

Montessori Method
ARTB’s initial inspiration was the paper-table of a Montessori classroom.

In the Primary Classroom:
ARTB activities assist children in the acquisition of skills such as sequencing, practical life, sensorial, and cultural acuity. ARTB helps develop fine motor skills in early childhood through interactive work with paper, tearing, crumpling, scissor cutting, folding, and gluing the flat page into three-dimensional forms, during children’s sensitive period for coordination of movement.

In the Lower Elementary Classroom:
ARTB activities assist students in developing their spatial reasoning and geometric understandings of surface area, construction, and dimension. Artistically, ARTB aides in development of craft skills and visual perception of forms important to the depiction of perspective in drawings and draftings. And culturally, ARTB augments and expands social study lessons by providing hands-on projects related to historic, holiday, geographic and natural-life explorations.

In the Upper Elementary Classroom:
ARTB activities assist students in developing their spatial reasoning and geometric understandings of surface area, construction, and dimension. Artistically, ARTB aides in the development of craft skills and visual perception of forms important to the depiction of perspective in drawings and draftings. Culturally, ARTB can serve to introduce students to culturally impactful forms, architecture, and geography.

In the Middle School Classroom:
ARTB activities assist students in continuing to expand on student’s spatial reasoning and geometric understandings of surface area, construction, and dimension. ARTB promotes self-efficacy in the construction of forms in a physical world. Artistically, ARTB aides in the development of crafting diligence and visual perception of forms important to the depiction of perspective in drawings and draftings. Culturally, ARTB introduces students to culturally impactful forms, architecture and geography.

In the High School Classroom:
ARTB activities facilitate expanded explorations of geography, architecture, algorithmic process, geometric concepts, and creative confidence.

Charlotte Mason
Consistent with the ideas of Charlotte Mason, ARTB supports a wide and liberal curriculum, including an entire section of products devoted to christian activities for biblical studies. Charlotte Mason students augment their curricula with ARTB to incorporate hands-on art activities that encourage the making of their own relations to the ideas, topics, and historical events of their literature.

Reggio-Emilia
ARTB supports the many languages of children, their imagination, and creativity through activities that affirm children’s capabilities while inspiring new discoveries. We love discovery as well as the understanding that each learner has an individual personality and an endless imagination. That’s why ARTB has been designed as a starting point for companions to initiate topical explorations, problem solving, and creativity, then watch the spark develop for the learner. Be the area of interest a geographic, architectural, or cultural topic, ARTB is the impetus to get constructive, play with understandings, and make learnings visible with accessible materials.

In the Special Needs Classroom
We are initiating an investigation into how our products can be maximized in the Special Needs classroom environment.

World Schooling
We are currently looking at effective points to emphasize in our products to maximize their aide in World Schooling environments. The first points will be the opportunity to build geographically appropriate 3-D paper maps of prominent cities in history through our BUILD-UP book series.

Parochial Institutions
We are initiating an investigation into how our products can be maximized in Parochial institutions.

The Public Education System
We are initiating an investigation into how our products can be maximized in the Public Education System.

Waldorf
We are initiating an investigation into how our products can be maximized in the Waldorf environment.

We are ever-expanding on our research to provide teachers and school directors with the most helpful information on applying ARTB activities in their learning environments.
